Girls Gone Mild Bachelorette Trip
I have been in my fair share of weddings. From last in line, to dress fluffer and bouquet holder. Finally, in this last wedding I was in as Matron of Honor, I felt like I finally fully understood and embraced my duties. Maybe it comes with age and maturity, maybe there are more ideas than ever floating around with Pinterest, Reels, and TikTok galore.
You may be wondering how we decided to theme our trip, “Girls Gone Mild”. It is very simple. We are basically all moms, or full time careers, (or both), and the bride said, “all I want to do is sit on the beach and burn for 3 days.”. Your wish is my command! Obviously throwing in a little fun here and there!
First up, location! Ocean City, Maryland was the destination of choice. I found a very cute AirBnB a half block from the ocean. Side note: I don’t know about you, but I have decided a while ago that being within walking distance of the beach is the ONLY way to sanely do the beach, kids or not in tow!
What did I plan?

Gift Bags Bridal Party & The Bride
I decided to make cute gift bags for all the girls coming on the trip! It is just in my nature to do this, it is like autopilot and I HAVE to! I enjoy it, and I hope others enjoy receiving them as I do piecing it together!
Everyone decided they would each contribute one item to the bags, we ended up with a great variety! These are the items that I purchased for the bags.
Cute BandAids- blisters from those cute shoes, not a problem now!
I got these two! >> https://amzn.to/4qftNE8 & https://amzn.to/45LY6uN
Convenient mini hair brush>> https://amzn.to/3Ojv67s
Advil Travel Bottle>> https://amzn.to/4tgPsOG
MTN OPS Hydration Packets (strawberry coconut [YUM]) >> https://amzn.to/4qfUwAm

Additional Items for the Brides bag:

Some other items that were added were, hairties, gold eye gel masks, plastic wine cups, claw clips, hand sanitizers, lip gloss, mini sun screens, and snacks.
Cocktail Challenge
We ended up not actually doing this activity. However, I think it is a cute idea, and someone may want to do it. It is very simple! You can do it individually, or in teams. You can have each person/team do a drink for the bride and a drink for the groom, or split it in half. The object is to craft a cocktail or pick a drink that embodies the bride or the groom, and the Bride judges and picks a winner. It is a copy cat of the wedding day signature cocktails essentially.
Underwear Game
This is a fun game for everyone! You can make it as “serious” or as silly as you want! Each bach party attendee will purchase undergarments for a game. All items will be hung up or displayed in some way (I got string and mini clothes pins and hung it on the wall). The bride needs to guess who purchased which item. You can make this into a drinking game, or just play. Either way it is fun! At the end, the bride can keep everything to add to her collection! Make sure whoever is in charge of the game gets the correct size of the bride so she can be comfortable in her new goodies!
Door Dash Roulette
We played this on our first night we arrived so we didn’t have to rush around to make anything or make plans to go out. Each person picks a place to Door Dash or Uber Eats from. You can choose anything! Pizza, sushi, drinks, apps, dessert… literally anything. You order and get it delivered, then everyone shares and feasts! You can get quite the variety, and it is fun to see who will pick what, and who picks from the same places.
Outfits
First up >> WIGS << We decided to get out of our comfort zone and buy fun wigs to wear out! Everyone had their own flare and style to show off for this, and I loved it! We had mullets to mermaid hair, afros to long locks. This is the wig I bought to wear! > https://amzn.to/4qj3Wei
We also added another little game with our outfit planning. As the matron of honor, I just wrote everyone’s name on a piece of paper, made a list of the names and first name on the list bought for the first piece of paper that I opened. We chose to do funny and inappropriate shirts to exchange. This is a fun game, but if anyone is a little uptight, they might get offended. You can find almost ANYTHING on amazon!
Beach Yoga
I HIGHLY recommend pulling the trigger and scheduling beach yoga. I will not lie, I was extremely hesitant when booking, and nervous it was going to be a waste of money. I was proven wrong. I booked our party through Bride Vibe Yoga. They have locations all over the country. It is extremely official in the booking process, and great communication.
We had a beautiful morning on the beach. Our instructor, Megan T. was very personable, sweet, kind, friendly, and made everyone just feel very comfortable and at ease. I am not really a “yoga” person. Typically I get bored or frustrated; this was totally different. She helped where needed, and gave advice at the perfect times. As surprised as I was that the yoga session was extremely relaxing (clearly I was doing something wrong other times), I was even more pleased with the cooled lavender towels she placed on our eyes at the end. If you think you have ultimately relaxed before, I NEED you to do a beach yoga session, and end with an ice cold lavender towel across your eyes as you hear the waves softly crashing in the background. Pure bliss, you must try it. Everyone in the party talked about that yoga session for hours after! It was for sure a hit loved by everyone on the trip!

Food
What is any getaway without some amazing food joints!? We did the Door Dash Roulette the first night. I honestly can't remember everything we had ordered, but it was so great and we had SOOO much left over!
Bayside Skillet: 10/10 100% recommend going here. We ate brunch here after yoga and it was perfect! They do not take reservations, however, even with a huge crowd outside, we got in fairly quickly and only had to wait maybe 15 minutes. They have yummy shot options, mimosas, and plenty of other drink options. What they are more famous for are their crepes. It is almost ¾ of the menu. I don’t think you could honestly go wrong with any of the options they offer. I got the Hotlanta Chicken and Crepes. O-M-G. Amazing. The perfect balance of SALTY, SWEET, & HEAT! I think everyone at the table ordered something different and everyone was thoroughly pleased with their meals.
Vista Rooftop: This was our fancy night out dinner. It was actually surprisingly chilly in OCMD that week in August, so we decided to sit inside the rooftop restaurant and not outside. It was chilly and windy, but looked like it would be so pretty on a nice summer evening. Our bride wore white, and the guests all wore black and/or silver. Their food was very good, more of an upscale type of steakhouse and bar.
Recap
What made this weekend so special wasn’t the games, the food, or even the beach — it was the space to slow down and be together. In a season of life where we are constantly giving to everyone else, this trip felt like permission to breathe, laugh, and just exist as friends again. If you’re planning a bachelorette trip and worried it has to be wild, expensive, or exhausting — let this be your sign that it doesn’t. “Girls Gone Mild” was proof that relaxing, simple, and meaningful can be just as unforgettable.
